IR target detect and tracking technology takes a great role in industruy control and military army control and guide. Along with the development of modern science and technology, and the requirement of modern war, as the big advantage of IR search and track system, the IR search and track system become the most important precise guide technology.The purpose of the paper is to propose suitable dim target detection and tracking algorithms in low signal to noise condition with high real-time and robust characteristic. The work of the paper provides theory foundation and experience support for the engineering implementation of certain high frame frequency IR seeker. The work of the paper mainly focuses on two aspects: first of them is the research work of dim moving target detection technology in IR image sequence; and the second is the research work of dim moving target tracking algorithm and detection algorithms'performance analysis in IR image sequence.This paper analysis the background characteristic and the method of background estimation, and describe the common model of the IR image background prediction. Discuss the theory of IR image background suppression based on the background suppression and dissertate several kinds of background suppression techniques in detail, combined with the requirement of high frame frequency IR image moving target detection algorithm of this paper, providing a novel multi-channel self-adaptive image detect algorithm; At the same time, based on the system requirement of real-time performance, we analysis the characteristic of common tracking methods and developed a kind of character matching tracking method based on the filter technique. Finally, we apply this new algorithm to single spectrum dim moving target detection and tracking system with staring detector. These testify its practicability, validity and real-time capability.In this subject, I took the responsibility of system dectection and tracking algotithm design, testing the algotithm performance. finally, the project has passed expertise appraisal, achieved the demand and gained good performance.
