Abstract/Summary:
Navy pilots should have outstanding eyesight to identify moving targets in night and rough weather conditions. Currently, in Navy pilot eyesight testing, eyesight performance is mainly measured by observing and identifying static targets. This method provides good quantitative test results, and it is easy to repeat. However the method cannot measure the capabilities of tracking moving targets. So there exists a big gap between the method and practical scenario.Based computer technology and 3D virtual reality technology, this thesis proposed a vision test system specifically designed for Navy pilots with low luminance dynamic environments simulated. This thesis firstly introduces the requirements and the background. It then introduces the high level architecture of the system to provide an overview of the system including software and hardware development environment, and illustrates the modular design principles and functionality partitioning as well as some related technologies. The thesis discusses the design and implementation of its major software modules, including the two-dimensional target vision testing module, the stereo vision testing module, and the three-dimensional virtual reality testing module. The last part of this thesis describes the UI design and analyzes the experimental results obtained.
