With the development of Internet and multimedia technology, the copyright protection of multimedia information which is transferred on the Internet is been more and more concerned, the copyright protection system has become a focus for researchers, the traditional cryptographic techniques can not fully solve the problem of copyright protection, " digital watermarking, "as a new anti-piracy technology, is firstly been proposed in 1993 and it has developed rapidly. So far, in this area, much work is being done.The research background, significance and the status of domestic and international research are described in this paper; it also analyzes representative digital watermarking and copyright protection system. Contrary to the shortcomings and inadequacies of the existing systems, a new digital watermarking algorithm is purposed based on image processing, password technology and database technology, and finally a copyright protection system based on B/S mode and digital watermarking is researched and designed. The main contributions are as follows.(1)The cryptography, digital signatures and other security technologies are analyzed, the symmetric encryption and asymmetric encryption technology are used the user registration and image's data transmission process, the message digest is applied to the information integrity certification.(2)The type of image and image preprocessing methods are analyzed, RGB true color image is selected as the original image, binary image is selected as a copyright watermark image and watermark image is preprocessed by using Arnold transform to enhance robustness of digital watermarking.(3)A color image watermarking algorithm is proposed, which transforms the image from RGB space to YUV space, extracts the brightness component Y. Based on the block DCT and the arithmetic mean of average of the absolute value of mid-frequency coefficients, the watermark information ultimately is embedded and extracted.(4)A copyright protection system based on encryption and watermarking algorithm which is purposed in (1) and (3) is researched and implemented, which can provides protection for customers has been deployed in real application environment, which has strong practicability.
