As the electronic equipments used broadly in our lives, the portable and long standby devices became more and more popular. Therefore, their need for power is increased as well. The monolithic DC/DC converter was developed rapidly in recent years, which has the virtues of compact size and high performance. The market demanding for DC/DC switch controller will be swelling up for a long time. Market prospect and research value of switching power are favorite.Based on the research on modern power supply technology, a Buck DC/DC switching power supply was proposed. And its principles and system architecture were studied and analyzed, which includes its main loop and control loop. Finished the system design, the functional blocks was designed based on UMC0.18μm technology, which included reference, bandgap, error amplifier, oscillator, and comparator etc. And, all circuits were given. The functional blocks were simulated and verified by Cadence Spectre. The results showed their performances met spectre well. And the system simulation also showed that all of desired functions were realized. And part of layout design was presented.
