Under the trend of economic globalization and e-commerce, As the enterprises compete with each other more and more fiercely and profits keep shrinking, the rising costs can not get under control, workflow automation and business reengineering have become a great need for all the enterprises. The birth of Business Process Management software has meet this demand. Therefore, many industries such as telecommunication and energy have chosen the BPM software to solve the problem of enterprise management and cooperation between the units within the enterprise in order to minimize the costs and raise the profits. These abilities mentioned above has attracted much attention, and these attention caused the market of BPM software become very prosperous, customers are facing the difficulty in selecting the most suitable and trustworthy BPM software among all the like products.The software dependability issues have been focused on for a long time. The newly rising BPM software also faces the dependability issues. At present, the research of software dependability has just started-up, no unified BPM dependability standard has been formed yet, and the dependable factors of the BPM software are not clear, too. The current algorithms of marking the dependable factors are of strong subjectivity. All these problems of BPM dependability need to be solved.The content in this paper is an attachment of the 863 project undertaken by our lab, the dependability of software is discussed in the paper, and especially the dependability of BPM software is discussed. Based on the conclusion of former researches, firstly, trustworthy factors of BPM software are researched, secondly, the process model and algorithm model are researched, and then finally the evaluation tool is designed and realized on the base of the former researches. The main contents of the paper are as follows:1. The related concept of software dependability and BPM software technology are analyzed and researched. A hierarchical structure of the dependable factors is established. Further more, the measure definition of dependabe factors of BPM and the standard description are given.2. The process evaluation model EvaPro is established to make sure the procedure of the evaluation act is clear. 3.Algorithm model GreyTrust are brought forward in this paper, which is a grey relation algorithm-based multi-attribute decision-making model, to achieve the quantitative evaluation of the dependability of BPM software;4. The B/S structure based BPMEva tool is designed and implemented; this tool could help the customers to evaluate the dependability of BPM software and find out the best and most wanted software.
