With the rapid development of communication technology and the increasing market demand, RF receiver with high performance is in shortage. Great attention has been paid on the RF receiver chip, which has high integration and low power consumption. Low-noise amplifier(LNA) is one of the most important modules in the front of the RF receivers, it is of great importance in the performance of RF receiver. In this thesis, a broadband low-noise amplifier, which is used in the receiver of spectrum detecting in cognitive radio was designed. Firstly, the principles of some kinds of RF receivers were introduced, and then the topology of low-noise amplifiers were presented.Secondly, Key researches about the noise cancellation technology and the current reuse technology were discussed The broadband input impedance matching was completed by the transformer and good performance was achieved. The whole work is based on the 0.18 um RF CMOS technology of TSMC and the simulation was performed upon the Cdence-Spectre RF soft ware surrounding. The simulating results revealed that the LNA operating frequency range is 470 MHz~870MHz, the gain is 11.25~12.8dB, the fluctuation of the gain is±0.8dB, the noise figure is 3.083~3.486dB, the input 1dB compression point is-13.7dB,and the third-order intermodulation intercept point is-7.3 dB. When the supply voltage is 1.8V, the power consumption is 29.7mW. The designed CMOS broadband low-noise amplifier in this thesis can be suitable for the cognitive radio frequency spectrum detection receiver, which operating frequency is 470MHz-870MHz.
