As the last bulwark of defense system, short-range active defense system is an important direction of the military development. The main controller of short-range active defense system realized the system fire control and achieved the connection to other subsystems as a hub. So the main controller will directly affect the performance of the active defense system.Against the background of the development of the short-range active defense system, a main controller of the active defense system is developed. Based on the functional requirements of the short-range active defense system, this paper gives the overall design program, and introduces the research on radar target tracking Kalman filter algorithm in detail.The DSP microcontroller (TMS320VC5509) is used as the main control chip of this system. The hardware can be divided into four modules, which is communication interface module, logic control module, memory expansion module and power module. The software is designed by modules, including data transportation and receiving, SD Card storage, fire control, external FLASH programmer, etc.Based on the hardware and software design, the author debugged the UART communication and digital signal output module, and make MATLAB experiment to verify filter algorithm. After that, the author carried out the testing of the main controller with cannonball. The result of the debugging process shows that the system has a stable performance and satisfied the desired features.
