For a long time, the automation degree in most of the domestic tungsten smelting enterprises was on a low level. Detection with general instrument, off-line analysis, manual control and so on were still a major mode to produce and control the tungsten smelting, so the product quality was unstable, metal recovery was difficult to improve. In recent years, various factors increased world demands for tungsten and reduced high-quality mineral resources of tungsten substantially, so the sources of tungsten materials became extensive, and the composition of tungsten materials was changing, bringing about difficulties to accurately set the parameters. The production prone fluctuated and unstable, which affected product quality and resource utilization. Accordingly, the paper launched a research on automatic control and online monitoring technology of tungsten smelting process.In this paper, conducted the research and design of tungsten smelting process parameter measurement and online monitoring system with the EIC integration design idea. Gave emphasis to analysis and introduction about the grinding, alkaline-leach, crystalline and other major processes, control and monitoring system function analysis as well as system software and hardware, network structure and monitoring software design. The total tungsten smelting process control and on-line monitoring system consists with PLC control stations, supervision station and PROFIBUS. On this basis, this paper devoted to the reactor in the important tungsten smelting production processes——alkaline-leach carried out mechanism analysis, established a mechanistic mathematical model, and accordingly designed the corresponding fuzzy PID controller and MATLAB simulation analysis.Adopted the German siemens company's S7-300 series PLC and YANHUA industrial computer (IPC) to build a hardware system of the tungsten smelting process control and monitoring system, and selected the type of the corresponding instrumentation and electrical devices , one side in the PLC selected the ET200M module of DP interface, in the upper monitor computer selected the communications processor module of CP343-1 and connected by the PROFIBUS, the link between upper monitor and ether-net realized the hardware integration which consist of process control, monitoring and management.Based on the STEP-7 programming environment, wrote the controlling programs of the lower computer with STL and LAD, achieved process parameters detection and controlling of grinding, alkaline-leach and crystallization. Using King-View6.53 to develop the upper monitor's management and monitoring, achieved the functions about status of tungsten smelting process, the storage of data, alarm, real-time process simulation and so on. The system has functions such as BOM settings, simulation of off-line process and optimization of process parameters, setting of controlling parameter automatically download, process control and global dynamic monitoring, query and print about real-time and historical and trend data, exception alarm and so on, formed complete tungsten smelting process control and monitoring system.
