Since the 1990's, information technology is profoundly changing the traditional means of information transmission and systems. With the popularity of the network and the development of video conferencing systems, more and more institutions and enterprises find it necessary to deploy in the network video conferencing systems.Video Conference (Video Conference) is a communication system which is able to have voice, image, text and other information sent from one place to a number of places. Different from the general network applications, video conferencing systems have such advantages as large quantity of information transmission, real-time network transmission and jitter-sensitivity in transmission delay and so on. Although the current development of Internet is very rapid, video conferencing systems are still faced with the balance of video conferencing quality with the network bandwidth.In this paper, the author, according to his experience of the video conferencing systems deployment, specifies how to deploy video conferencing systems on enterprises and institutions in the local area network environment, as well as how to optimize the video conferencing system to meet the requirements of the quality of video conferencing.(1) Through the analysis of existing network topology and the distribution of network traffic, the author discusses the location choice of a video server on the deployment.(2) With reference to the features of information transmission of video conferencing system and the specific analysis of the properties of the network traffic generated by video conferencing system, the author discusses the optimization techniques as to the transmission of network traffic, Which includes policy routing, QoS, and multicast technology etc..(3) The author also explores the integration of the existing network system and the 3G network video conferencing system, with his own viewpoints on this stated at the same time.Finally, this paper looks forward to the future of high-definition video conferencing and mobile development direction, with a summary of the experience of the network deployment and optimization of video conferencing systems.
