Digital signature is one of the core technology guaranteeing the information security, which has some important functions such as message certification, authentication certification, etc. With the application of digital signature technology in areas such as e-commerce, e-government, the ordinary digital signature technology has been unable to meet demand for the development of network information technology. Therefore all sorts of special signatures were produced, such as blind signature, group signature, proxy signature, etc. Blind signature is a special digital signature based on the condition that the subscriber has no access to the specific contents of signed files, which has broad application in the e-cash and e-election environment. This paper aims to discuss the applications of the blind signature in the electronic cash based on relevant theories. This paper first discusses the concept of blind signature, the property and category, the blind signature schemes based on factoring problem and discrete logarithm problem and their security analysis. Then it discusses the concept and property of the group signature, the group blind signature, proxy signature, proxy blind signature. Meanwhile a typical group blind signature scheme and a proxy blind signature scheme are analyzed and improved. Finally, the article introduces some preliminary knowledge of the electronic cash and its development, and puts forward an e-cash scheme based on RSA blind signature. The scheme has features as following: it cannot be forged and spent repeatedly, may revoke anonymity and off-line payments.
