According to requirements for some missile weapon system, this paper is involved with research into designing a non-pollution explosive bolts at a front cover and a back cover of a box which is used for restoring, transporting and launching a missile fixed therein and the reliability of the explosive bolts is evaluated.Through theoretical calculation combined with experimental study, the materials and sizes of the bodies and predetermined rupture surface of the bolts, the thread size of the electric squibs and the optimal quantity of the explosives loaded in the explosive bolts are determined. By analyzing the squibs' bridge band in structure, the structure and size of the initiators of the electric squibs are determined. Addition of a isolator ring between the lead and the shell and adoption of air as a protective spark gap have met the requirements for performance of resistance to static electricity and radio frequency.By adoption of sealing both at the input port and the output port, the problem that the high pressure gas leakage from the container has been eliminated. By designing a vent and choosing argon arc welding to seal the vent, the problems encountered in assembling piston parts have been resolved. For sometimes occurrence of a too large space between the cutting piston and cutting surface during assembling, it is proposed that the unaccepted products are removed from the products through the check by X-ray.For the designed explosive bolts, an environmental experiment study and a reliability evaluation have been carried out, the result shows that the products have an excellent environmental flexibility with its firing reliability up to R=0. 994 and functional reliability up to R=0. 99 under the confidence levelĪ³=0.90. The general performances of the products can basically meet the requirements for the technical indexes and requirement of use for the weapon systems.
