Routing protocol is one of the core problems in Sensor Network. It reflects the wireless sensor network data transmitting method. A good routing protocol can quickly perceive routing and send packets to the destination node accurately. Sensor network routing protocol are greatly different from the traditional network. These sensor nodes are battery-powered, and work in the harsh environment. So it is not easy to change batteries. Therefore the node's energy consumption should be taken into account when the sensor network routing protocol designs. When it comes to the whole network, it is the load balance. In the theory of fluid mechanics has refereed to the flow field principle, the control volume flow in the flow field with the flow lines, which is very similar to packets flow in the sensor networks. So we can analyze the sensor network through the theory of fluid mechanics. This paper designs a novel sensor network routing protocol which is based on the hydrodynamic model. It is inspired by the design of fluid dynamics. In accordance with the rules of the physical fluid model, sensor network data packets is a micro-mobile element, and the path packet flow is the flow line in the flow field, so each sensor node will have a direction to flow. The load flow field can be described by a partial differential equation and a boundary. By the direction of the load flow in network, the sensor node will have a direction to send packets. Through the source node send packets in different directions, we established multiple paths, so the network loads balance. In this paper, fluid mechanics model is applied in the sensor network routing protocol. The simulation experiments show that the network routing protocol based on the fluid mechanics model has a more balanced load of the entire sensor network, and then increased the throughput of the network.
