The book information management system is the typical information management System, and it includes two areas which are the development of front-end program founction and the establishment and maintenance of background database. For the former, the program founction should be functional improvement and easy-to-use features. For the latter, the database should be having the consistency, the completeness and the security.The research method adopt field survey.To investigate the book information management system of the college libraries and the library in Pan Zhihua and look up plentiful reference material. In addition,there are many questions to achieve the database.For example the program.We can only practice some simple program and actively make use of the book library and the network resources.We should look up plentiful related data and discuss with the teachers and classmates.After deeply discussing of the tools Delphi 7.0,database developing language MS SQL Server 2000 and the principles of SQL knowledge,the paper mainly expatiates on the development background and the development trends , requirements analysis, functional modules, database design, the realization and the process of the modules of the book information management system,and makes a detailed expatiates on the interface founction designing and implementation of adding, deleting, modifying, searching of the users and books information. The system can meet the basic library information management and ensure the library management's safety. But the system still has many not satisfied places.For example the design of the user interface was not beautiful enough and the function of the system presenting did not plan reasonable enough.The statistics design of the system is only single temporal statistics too.These places depend on us to improve.For the system maintenance and motion,the system can't step up itself on line.It only can use in the single computer.The exploitation of the book information management system is a refined and complicated work.It require the deviser has the ability of general plan and has hundredfold patient to do this and can't have a little careless in design.The development trend of the book information management system is from single computer to network ,to digitization management.
