In view of the present and future situation of BOF steelmaking end-point control, we conbine furnace flame information and DSP system,, propose a new method for estimating the end-point control of basic oxygen furnace (BOF), collect special informations from furnace flame light images and display them. This article mainly includes: Establish an image capturing and displaying system, configure DM642 working environment, filter image noise and strengthen the flame image, explain how color modeles are used to judge the BOF endpoint, find the connection between hue information in flame light image and the endpoint time, make a great use of the high speed real time handling ability of TMS320DM642. Design programs for color model conversion and hue value display in chart, optimize arithmetic in order to find the end-point in real time. We make a conclusion that: Displaying hue value in chart provides intuitionistic watching way for end-point control, and DSP system is not only high efficient when used in filtering image noise and strengthening flame image, but also able to be used in detecting light intensity and spectrum in future, picking up light intensity character information or concluding light intensity data then displaying them in curves. This method can also be used to validate arithmetic, even used in endpoint control.
