A double C-type spring tube type fiber-optic differential pressure transducer is a novel device that measures differential pressure. This differential pressure transducer adopts compens- able reflection type fiber-optic sensor principle. The transform of differential pressure made of consisting of two C-type spring tubes that exist in a C-type spring tube mechanical manometer, which can realize the transform of differential pressure and displacement. Then it is equipped with an optical fiber displace- ment sensing device, which can measure differential pressure. The original C-type spring tube mechanical manometer functions are developed by the differential pressure transducer that can transmit differential pressure signal long-rang, and is suitable for remote the pressure of the store tanks of oil or chemical good especially, because these places are easy to fire and to explode. Theoretical analysis and trial data proved that a double C-type structure can eliminate the effect on measuring result caused by the variation of atmospheric pressure and temperature, and a reflection type fiber-optic probe can eliminate the effect on measuring result caused by the variation of the light source intensity and the temperature of optical links. An optical fiber differential pressure transducer made of this novel probe and double C-type spring tube has good property and will be applicated in the great variety fields.
