With the rapid development of computer networks,more and more multimedia transmission technologies come out.The multimedia conferencing system as a new and advanced communication technology,it provides a feasible approach to make a remote conference call.The multimedia conferencing system is suitable for all industries.It not only helps people to improve collaboration,but also helps companies to save cost.Therefore,more and more companies hold meetings through conferencing system,instead of holding traditional face to face meetings.This paper presents a multimedia conferencing system solution.In the architecture,both C/S and B/S model are adopted,the conferencing management subsystem using B/S model and the conferencing subsystem (Meeting controller and Media Server) using C/S model.The advantage of using two deferent architecture models is that it can reduce development cycle and achieve the best capability and user-friendly;In the module division,the system is divided into three subsystem.Each subsystem serves different aspect of conference and collaborate each other. Moreover,each subsystem has the detail design.In the design,the UML modeling is completely used for helping development team communication and maintenance.In the technical,a lot of advanced technologies are used, such as Socket,Spring Framework,RTP/RTCP protocol etc.At last,the multimedia conferencing system is successfully achieved base on design.The author introduces the business model of system and the roadmap of next version.Finally,the author makes a prospect for conferencing system.
