With computer technology's developing, the enterprise's computer system has already been changed to taken application and data as the core than hardware and the software, and, the key of the enterprise's data storage system is high reliability and good performance. A company will upgrade the low cost data storage system to high reliability and good performance system, and the process of upgrading is often extremely rigid.SAN is a storage system with the combination of storage area and network technology. In the early period, storage equipment is often used only for one server or mainframe, but SAN provides a storage service for all the servers or mainframes in the company.NAS is a good way to decrease the cost of SAN in the company with LAN technology. NAS provides the storage service by encapsulating SCSI protocol in TCP/IP which is popular protocol that existing in the company's infrastructure.Most of the data centers now have the SAN system to support the data storage, which provides the advanced disk array, and the disk array will generally has some free volume. The author successfully integrated the SAN system and NAS technology into ISCSI, then the new servers or testing servers could store their data in the free volume of the disk array easily, and, online migration with LVM mirror is reliable from NAS storage to SAN storage. This project now is running successfully in Sichuan mobile Company. |
