With using of Internet/Intranet and growing of the information technology highly,people have more and more requirement on the data storage.But the traditional storage system can't meet the need of the requirement on good dependability,expandability and security for enterprise user.The storage mode on SAN(Storage Area Network) has the advancement of the traditional storage mode,and makes highly progress for the performance and secutrity of network based on its fiber channel and disk array subsystem. At the same time,SAN makes it reliable that the data storage can be managed assembly,and this is beneficial to the shared using.SAN can appply storage resoure abundantly and quickly,links between high-speed computers and high-speed storage devices,flexible storage device configuration,quick data backup,remote data disaster recovery and so on,so it becomes the ideal storage and application mode.The research topics of this article are mainly related to designing of network storage system architecture and Safety Box module based on SAN hardware platforms. The article introduce the designing,structure of SAN,hardware platform of SAN storage ,and analyse the software architecture of system ,module function on hardware platform of SAN storage.At the same time,this article also introduces module Safety Box about position,function,the key implement technology in storage system.During one year project development,the author have a deep understanding of the whole network storage system structure and function,and how to give users performance and security storage flexibility.Main content includes:1. Safety Box module's basic function and division of module inside .2. Design and implement unique management of disk array storage space in Safety Box modules .3. Design internal data structure for external business data ,and how to organize module's memory usage in Linux kernel memory space.4. Design and implement module internal multi-threaded mode, and collaboration between multi-threads in the Linux kernel space.5. Design and implement the testing of functionality and performance about the Safety Box module.
