In recent years, the major task which the telecommunication industry faces in China is the IP-based transformation in GSM system. The traditional TDM network has been overwhelmed when it faces more and more high-bandwidth requirements and more and more new business. When IP technology is introduced into the GSM system, the bandwidth of GSM system become greater and the cost of operation and maintenance become lower. The coming of the 3G age does also herald the future of GSM system must be the IP-based GSM system.AUOIP(A interface User plane Over IP)is a important part of the IP-based transformation of GSM system. A interface is the important interface connectting two essential components of GSM system,one is NSS (Network Sub-System Network Subsystem) and the other is BSS (Base Station Sub-System Base Station Subsystem),the IP-based transformation of user plane at A interface means the IP-based transformation in the process mode of the transmission of the user plane data at A interface. The implementation of AUOIP is very valuable to promote the process of the IP-based transformation of GSM system.This dissertation builds a framework for the implementation of AUOIP based RTP according to the demands and background of the application.Then it assigns some function modules and finish the software development of the project.In order to resolve the problem that the feature of the IP technology do not match the requirement of the GSM system this dissertation introduces the RTP at the beginning. RTP can help the project to be feasible and more reliable.After this the dissertation assigns the tasks for every component involved in this project due to completing the application of RTP in the transmission of user plane data at A interface. This process includes introduce of the TCSL to assure the safety of the signaling message in BSC ,the design of IP interface in TC and a new function module PTU. In consideration of the important position of PTU in this framework, this dissertation offers a detailed analysis and description of the implementation framework and the key algorithms of PTU.The end of the dissertation introduces the simulation experiments on the implementation framework and the results show the project can achieve the goal of the design.The achievement of the project can consummate the transmission of the user plane data at A interface with enough reliability and then proceed to promote the process of the IP-based transformation of GSM system.
