Web-based Configurable Firewall Design And Realization

With the rapid development of network technology, the safety of network has now increasingly become the most discussed issue. Firewall itself is a system used to control the safe strategies of access among networks.Firewall products now available on the market are very powerful and have very good performance. However, they do have some disadvantages. For example, most of firewall products on the market usually have fixed functions. As a result, if a new function should be added to such products, the only way to realize this is to change the firmware in them. In addition, current firewall products are often designed for large or moderate enterprises, so they are often very expensive and the maintenance cost can be very high too.The paper tries to fill in the blank of firewall products on the market. A firewall system with simple usage, high extensibility and less money is discussed in this paper. Firstly, all functions of the firewall are controlled with the control program based on web GUI. Secondly, the firewall system designed in the paper has all the functions common to general ones. Additional modules can be added (to it) to enhance its power. Lastly, the construction of such a firewall system is very simple and straightforward. Binary files are generated by the pre-compilation process. It can run on any hardware system that is suitable for FreeBSD. Therefore, the hardware cost is very low. So the firewall system designed in the way given is very powerful but cheap.The paper presents the readers with the design and realization flow of the project through detailed analysis of the following 3 parts: system requirement analysis, system architecture design and system realization. The feasibility and usability of the project is justified by the performance test report of other firewall systems. Lastly, the future version of the project presented here should be NetBSD-based embedded firewall system.The purpose of this paper is designed a firewall platforms for authorities e-government system of Wuxi municipal government. In this project, my assignment is requirements analysis and designing of the system architecture. There is some referential value for the building networks of e-government of Wuxi.
