Philips has developed an optical mammography prototype for breast cancer imaging. With this prototype, a clinical test has been performed in 1999. There were totally 328 subjects had been tested. To translate the acquired data of light intensity into the distribution of optical properties inside the breast, reconstruction is required. Recently, the reconstruction method has been improved. This report presents studies on the 1999 data and the evaluation of the new method. We evaluate the new reconstruction method by comparing the images showing the distribution of optical properties, obtained with the new and old reconstruction methods, respectively. At last, we choose an optimized set up of parameters to do reconstructions for all the 1999 data.
