Push technology comes out of Internet,aiming at resolving the problem of retrieving information from a rapidly expanding network of information sources. Compared with tradition "pull" technology,"push" is a more initiative and timely way of data transmission.Owing to these advantages,WAP Push achieves great success in the field of mobile communications.Nowadays,with the unprecedented development of Bluetooth and other Wireless Local Area Network technology,the WLAN applications are also increasingly rich,which shows the promising feature of mutually blended of content pushing and WLAN technology.Therefore,a Bluetooth based content pushing system is proposed in this paper,as a probe into the content pushing application in WLAN environment.In order to highlight the practical significance of our research,some major characteristics and features required by a well-designed content pushing system are proposed based on the study and analysis of the research results at home and abroad.These major concern points include the scalability of content pushing system,the availability of content pushing service,the pertinency of the content binding and organizing and the user-friendliness of the pushing process.In the latter part of the paper,the major design and implementation of the content pushing system are introduced,along with some detailed analysis and discussion on some key technical points of each module.The prototype system not only shows the feasibility of applying the major characteristics of content pushing system presented in this paper into the practical design and implementation,but also establishes a beautiful future for the research and developing of the WLAN based content pushing technology.
