Meshing can be defined as the process of breaking up a physical domain into smaller sub-domains(elements) in order to facilitate the numerical solution of partial differential equations. The principal application of interest is the finite element method.Surface domains may be subdivided into triangle or quadrilateral shapes, while volumes may be subdivided primarily into tetrahedra of hexahedra shapes. Ideally, the shape and distribution of the elements is defined by automatic meshing algorithms. There are variety of method to generate mesh, such as Advancing front method, Delauney triangulation,Transfinite interpolation,PDE method and C.O.H.method etc.,which is relative popular nowadays.Amongst them the Delauney triangulation and TFI is the automatic mesh generation algorithm,so that they are popularly applied in computer program. It is real complicated but useful task to complete that develop a software program supporting both triangulation and quadrangular grid, and also providing the tools for editing, change and save geometric items in a domain, which enhance the usability of the software. The functionality of automatic mesh generation as a basic requirement of finite element method,is a valuable tool, which help to simplify the process and shorten the time for the setup and design of the CAD industry and hydraulic modeling. The primary task of this thesis is to discuss and study a set of different meshing method or algorithm, and based on this research, try to implement a software for the automatic meshing generation using Delauney triangulation and TFI method, while provide user a strong mesh editor functionality. The main innovation point of the software is to support integrating triangulation and quadrangular meshing into one geometric domain, and respectively apply them to different subdivision of the domain, which provide a effective and strong way for user to select between them to facilitate the real project requirements and needs, and increase the flexibility of the application and diversity of the mesh process for different special sub-domain.This integration can exist as a complement between triangular and quadrangular meshing,in order to meet the real project alternatives, and therefore help to approach to a better, faster, and more precise numerical calculation result.
