Modern computer communication network is heading for B-ISDN,which integrated various traffics such as voice, data, fax and video. Each type of traffic has different traffic characteristic and requires different quality of service(QoS).Thus,a proper priority control mechanism is needed in order to utilize the network resources efficiently and satisfy the QoS of each traffic. What's more,in order to transmit the integrated service, we need to improve the original protocol.Polling strategy is a fully-fledged MAC protocol,it has attracted the widely attention of people. In order to discover the application of polling MAC protocol in the integrated service Bus LAN,we improved the former protocol, and the "improved polling protocol" was introduced. It not only decreases the detention time of the high priority traffic, but also ensures the QoS of lower priority traffic. Thus, the performance is greatly improved.Based on the deep research on the priority strategy of the "improved polling protocol", through serious analysis,in the thesis,we propose an extended Kendall model for the integrated service Bus LAN system based on the polling MAC protocol(so-called kendall model) L/D/l[K]/l/Pr,and then,we analyse the model above.Simulation results show that the "improved polling protocol" improves the performance remarkably. The research is not only with the innovation in theory, but also expands the use of the polling MAC protocol in the integrated service Bus LAN.
