In order to express one's idea more clearly and communicate with others more effectively in teaching or conference, we usually tend to draw on the surface of interactive device where the data are displayed. Traditional media for such kind of devices includes blackboards, paper and so on. Along with the fast development of information technology, large tiled displays supported by computer projection technology have gradually taken the place of blackboards, and become the mainstream in teaching and conference. However, if we want to interact with the displayed data, we have to turn to mouse and keyboard. User's attention together with the body must move among devices, which is very awkward. Aiming at solving the problem, touch sensitive technology has been developed, which makes it quick and convenient for users to interact with the displayed data directly with fingers or specially designed styluses. The paper researches the electronic whiteboard based on machine vision, presents four-camera detecting point method based on binocular vision theory and achieves touch-screen function on common flat-screen TVs so as to achieve the interactive ability. It will become a new development direction in the interactive whiteboard field. This paper adopts machine vision theory, researches three core problems related to the electronic whiteboard and finishes some experiments. The major work of this paper is as follows:1. First of all, get the main parameters of the camera using camera calibration mathod. Then process the image from the camera, and use four cameras to calculate the physical coordinate based on the camera parameters and the theory of 2-camera detecting point.2. Proposes a vector algorithm to achieve the coordinate conversion between touch-screen and monitor. At the same time, remove the drifting points and disturbing points.3. Analyses the structure of the system and software working process. The last part of this paper summarizes the characteristics of electronic whiteboard based on machine vision, points out its shortages and problems to be solved, also it makes an expectation on electronic whiteboard.
