Television set, which is a kind of information receiver for most consumers to contact in everyday life, transmits not only the video image but also audio message. If there is not any sound to be heard, nearly nobody can endure to continue watching TV program. A lot of people say that without sound, no good performance could be conducted.At present in television field, panel TV is the main product. To create good audio effect is the role and a goal for acoustics engineer to meet.The dissertation is based on sound wave equations, by the way of studying and analyzing considers boundary conditions, and then a sound radiation law is inferred when the observed location is exactly in front of a panel TV and in far distance sound field. The law is presented by a mathematical equation, which can numerically demonstrate the acoustic design result, and confirmed by experiment, too. Consequently, the law can get rid of individual factors in acoustic design activities in panel TV industry. Therefore, the law is a theoretical foundation for acoustic design to stand on and acts as a light to be followed in actual engineering project. Now in television field, thousands of sets of panel TV are being produced from assembly lines; on this background, the law is more instructive and valuable.The dissertation also deeply studies and practises other relevant engineering applications such as speaker, mechanical structure, electronic & software, etc, and then acoustics application is not isolated any more, but stands together with other science subjects to show an acoustics integrated performance in panel TV field. On the other hand, sound effect is subjective, and the dissertation also shows the strong correlation between the subjective impression and objective physics by illustrating my work of starting from the subjective side, to improve associated physical variables, and consequently to improve the subjective sound quality. For television sound quality, the dissertation works out a subjective evaluation method which has been implemented in practice.The dissertation is remarkable in the theory study aspect, and on the same time presents practical applications on the stage of panel television. The dissertation also relates acoustics theory to productive activity, accords experiment result to theoretical inference, unifies subjective effect with object test, and synchronizes my efforts into a team experience, makes acoustics knowledge be together with other science, to demonstrate a full range of acoustics practical application value.The dissertation is a valuable document for relevant acoustic engineers and technicians to refer to.
