Multi-channel military satellite communication system is one of the primary means of satellite communication used in the army, and it is also an important backup of the optical backbone network. Considering the huge transmission power, the RF unit of the system is usually placed separately in the high-power amplifier room, with certain distance from the terminal room, to avoid signal interference between diffrent channels while reducing radiation of high-power signal on the duty personnel. According to the maintenance requirement, the high-power amplifier room is designed as an unattended one, which is unfavorable for timely repairing of failure equipment, often resulting in a more serious problem or even leading to a serious communication block.This paper discusses serveral unfavorable situations of the system for communicaiton, equipment maintenance and personal safety, identifying a new design of the RF unit remote monitoring and control system for the multi-channel satellite communication system. In addition, in order to promote its application and introduce a better remote monitoring mechanism for satellite communicaiton system, the author also researches on the technical innovation of the RF unit remote monitoring and control system for the multi-channel satellite communication system.The author provides a detailed study on basic principles, functions and objectives, system designing, realization and application of the RF unit remote monitoring and control system for the multi-channel satellite communication system.
