At present, the streaming media is being applied to many important fields, such as: long-distance education, Internet video conferencing, video on demand, and so on. After application layer multicast technology has been applied to distribute Internet streaming data, streaming media applications base on large-scale users become possible. So streaming media applications has been further promoted. The multicast data is encoded in the source node and intermidiate nodes through Network coding technology, and further improve the efficiency of the distribution of network data. Therefore, it will have important significance that Network coding technology is applied to the distribution of streaming data.In this paper, the development status of the application layer multicast technology and network coding technology is described in detail, and network construction approch of the application layer multicast and encoding / decoding method of network coding are in-depth analysed. Base on this, vedio play system base on network coding is put forward. The goal of System design is to design a system that it has high-efficiency, good scalability and support multi-point transmission of multimedia data on the Internet. The 2-redundant multicast graph is constructed as fundation network of system, and network coding technology is applied to the distribution of streaming data in the system. Base on this, the distribution rate of media data is improved,and the traffic of entire network is more balanceable, too.The construction method of the multicast network and encoding / decoding method of the network coding are studied in this paper. Then the system's overall function and methods are analysed. Main results can be summed up as:1. Design a vedio play system base on network coding. The system's design objectives, structure, work processes, and so on, is Described in detail.2. Analysis the existing application layer multicast model, and constructed the 2-redundant multicast graph as fundation network of system 3. Introduce the encoding/decoding process of network coding, and design the generation,management,distribution of the code coefficient and the encoding / decoding process in the node.4. Apply network coding technology to the distribution of media data in the system. At last, a network topology is genereted through network topology generator (Inet3.0) in this paper, and a virtual network environment is constructed, and the entire system is simulated. Major test of the following aspects: delay, efficiency, load of nodes and load of edges. And compare delay and efficiency of using network coding and no using network coding. The result proves the performance of system achieve the required results.
