This dissertation uses the modern SCSI disk array technology to develop this radar wave generator which based on the FPGA. This radar wave generator can generate random radar wave of 80M band width, and simulate the target echo signal, the clutter signal and the echo signal.In the large capacity memory aspect, the traditional ordinary hard disk has not been able to satisfy the request of the high speed real time system saves. For example, the transmission speed of IDE hard disk can only amount to each 100MB/s or 133MB/s, and SATA II transfer rate is most 300MB/s. This wave generator uses the SCSI hard disk to take the storage medium, SCSI hard disk can work in Ultra320 mode, in which the transmission speed may achieve 320MB/s, and the serial transmission speed may achieve 40MB/s.The SCSI disk is easy to expand, which can be simultaneously paralleled to construct the disk array. As a result, the Storing velocity and storage capacity is enhanced doubled and re-doubled, which satisfies the need of the Modern Radar wave generator in high speed large capacity transmission areas.The wave generator takes FPGA as the core, and the SCSI disk array is used to memory wave data. Through the DMA channel the wave data transmission to DDS, then DDS generates the corresponding wave. The initial profile data is produced by computer, which through the USB channel transfer to the FLASH of FPGA. Then the FPGA write the wave data to the SCSI disk array.This prime summarized as follows:1. Deeply research the basis theoretical of the radar wave generator, elaborate the basic concept of the target echo, the coherent video frequency echo, the clutter, the noise analogy procedure as well as the frequency synthesis technology.2. Compared with the each kind of large capacity storage device, according to this system reality, the SCSI disk array has been established as the core storage device.3. Based on the Quartus platform, i completed the SCSI disk array control channel's design as well as the DMA data channel's design. Through applied the USB dynamic link library, the project has realized the communication between Computer and FPGA.4. Completed the DDS control channel design based on nios II, and through building the special module under Quartus, completed the DDS data channel design.5. Completed the system's software and hardware debugging, and the test result had indicated that this system has achieved the predetermined target. The running of the device in the function is stable and reliable.6. Completed the wave generator's application in navigational radar. Through dissects the RA772 navigation radar's structure and the function, proposed the new navigational radar design proposal which take wave generator as the core technologies.
