In recent years, with the development of multi-media technology, computer science and network technology, video real-time transmission was applied widely. But the huge multimedia data stream, the highly request for real-time and the small bandwidth is a big problem to the video real-time transmission. According to the characteristic of video real-time transmission, this document design and realize a real-time multimedia transmission system over the Internet.H.264 is the new video coding standard. It provides fairly good video quality while achieving better coding, and it is the most efficient video compression standard at present. Based on the H.264 code method, we choose the RTP/RTCP and DirectShow developing platform which suits the transmission of real-time media. In particular, this paper elaborated the auto-adapted transmission speed of the source according to the RTP/RTCP feedback information, enables it to realize the video real-time transmission in the different network condition. Then, produced the detail solution to the key question appearanced during the system design.It put forward a design plan of this system and completed it on VC, and the experiments prove that the schemes are effective. Finally, all of the work in this thesis is summed up. The future research of this system is prospected.
