Future broadband wireless communications system should be able to provide reliable high-data-rate transmissions,Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) and Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM)technique technology, enlarging the capacity and enhancing the reliability of communications system enormously, are regarded as the two pivotal techniques in the next generation communications system.Blind channel estimation needs fewer training sequence than training sequence-based estimation method, thus improves spectrum efficiency and simplifies the complexity of receiver. Space time coding combines coding technique and antenna array, enhancing the capability of communications system. The main contributions of the thesis are expounded as follows.The existing research fruits on the new generation wireless communication system is summarized, including MIMO technology, OFDM technology, the combination of MIMO and OFDM, channel estimation technology, and the basic characteristic of wireless wideband channel, etc.The blind channel estimation method based on the second-order statistics, including subspace-based method and linear prediction method, has been studied, between them the former is chiefly emphasized.,all algorithms mentioned above are demonstrated by MATLAB simulations.The blind channel estimation technology and decoding scheme are studied in MIMO-OFDM system employing Space Time Block Coding(STBC). The subspace-based method is improved in MIMO-OFDM system using Time Reversal STBC(TR-STBC), and the scheme of ZP-OFDM in TR-STBC-OFDM system is put forward by making use of the characteristic of TR-STBC.Some algorithms mentioned in the thesis are implemented on the hardware platform based on ADSP21160 processer, the experiment result are demonstrated.
