MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) system in wireless communication can be regarded as a wireless transmission technology which is implemented with multiple transmit antennas and multiple receive antennas. It is believed that the wireless MIMO technology will be one of the key ones that realize the high-speed broadband wireless Internet access networks in the future and has wide application prospect in the third generation (3G) or beyond third generation (B3G) mobile communications. MIMO precoding is one of the most popular technologies. It has mainly made further research on the related theories about two main aspects: MIMO precoding and dirty paper coding in MIMO communication systems on the basis of others' research work. Moreover, on the other hand, the important results acquired by others were validated and a number of new useful experimental results were obtained by a number of computer-aided simulations. The main contents of the thesis are expressed as follows:The first chapter is an introduction of the background and significance of the research in the thesis, MIMO basic principles, system component and advantages and the simple overview of the progress made in research and application of wireless MIMO linear precoding and dirty paper coding technology at present. The main problems to be solved are pointed out too.The second chapter mainly expounds linear transmit processing in MIMO communication systems. First of all, it comes up with mathematic model and assumed math notations all over the thesis. Secondly, it overviews linear receive processing and analyzed the performance of three receive filters. Based on this theory, linear transmit processing is discussed next. Moreover, it goes on the research of three corresponding transmit filters and constrained minimum mean square error filter. At last, it compares the transmit filters with the receive filters and the relevant simulation results were given. The third chapter mainly researches the critical technologies of MIMO linear precoding. At first, the necessity of acquiring the channel state information is further accounted for based on the second chapter. At the same time, it analyzes the methods to obtain the channel state information nowadays. Secondly, two power loading policies are presented and relevant conclusions about the capacity and performance are given behind some simulation assumptions. In the fourth chapter, it presents the research on the linear precoder design based on partial channel state information. And the necessity and feasibility of acquiring partial channel state information are also analyzed. With the support of this theory background, it brings forward a method of acquiring partial channel state information, that is, knowing the correlation matrices between antennas. Some relevant conclusions are obtained by computer simulation and extended at last based on LOS (Line of Sight) model.Dirty paper coding technology is mainly researched in the fifth chapter. It introduces the progress and working principles. Besides, it compares dirty paper coding with linear precoding in performance. And some relevant simulation results are present by computer simulation. The last chapter summarized the main research aspect on the papers. It also expounded the direction of future papers.
