With the development of modern micro-electronics and computer technology, video tracking based on image processing is rapidly developing.Video tracking processor is becoming dominant in the aim tracking, measuring and recording of electro-optic theodolite system. It is asked to complete many processes within 20 ms, to select high performance DSP. This paper introduces a design and construction of real-time video tracking processing system which is based on parallel processing using many TI' s high performance DSP TMS320C6416,which realizes many tracking arithmetic, such as all-video-field, core, edge, correlation. This technique enhanced the performance of real-time data processing in video tracking system. The system is implemented based on the DSP&FPGA co-processing. The DSP is the video processing core unit; And the video capture unit, ping-pang cache controller, the video display unit are implemented in the FPGA. The algorithm give arbitrations on parallel calculating results , which reduce the total processing time. Using embedded computer PC104, the hardware solution of bus arbitration is designed. A new dual-bus hardware architecture is introduced in order to overcome the non-real-time problem of data transportation under the use of PC104 ISA bus.This research gives a new method to the design of the video tracking system, and can be a useful reference for other applications in this domain. |
