With the durative development of satellite communication technique, the modern world need more and more satellite communications in the recent decade. Many techniques are used in satellite communication earth station, such as low cost high efficiency small size antenna art, microwave integrate circuit, digital integrate circuit and low cost GaAs FET solid state power amplifier technique, some digital signal processing techniques like digital modulation and demodulation, FEC, signal processing, signaling transform, channel control and network management, MPU with more functions etc. As a result, the size of the satellite communication earth stations become small. So many countries pay their attentions to VSAT. The VSAT on truck has some characters as high maneuverability, cross-country ability, high integrative operation safeguide ability etc. Therefore, it is suitable to be used in forest fireproofing, protection against the tide, antiriot succor, military command, and so on.This paper introduces lash-up satellite communication system that work on Ku band, its work principle and main parts. On this basis, we introduce the key design point of this system, its performance, link budget and its sub-system components. After the assembling of the system, we test the design performance carefully and compare it with the measured data. People always pay more attention to the security and the credibility of the system in practical engineering. So the last part of this paper analyzes some problems in the design of this system, which give potent consult for the application of the satellite communication system.
