In the millimeter-wave system, the limited output power of millimeter-wave signalsource is a bottleneck. A 5 watts output power of millimeter-wave(28GHz~30GHz)highpower amplifier has been simulated and designed in this thesis, based on the analysis of thedevelopment of domestic and overseas amplification technology. The research of thisthesis has some reference value of the domestic millimeter-wave high power amplifierdesign in the future. The emphasis of this dissertation is the analysis and design of power divider/combiner.The transmission-line model is used in the analysis of the power divider/combiner.Traditional Wilkinson structure form and thin film technics have been applied throughcompared some kinds of common power dividers/combiners. The efficiency of 85% hasbeen reached in four-ways power combiner based on the analysis of the ADS software. The microstrip-waveguide transition has been researched in this thesis. The probestructure has been applied to the microstrip-waveguide transitions, and insert loss is about0.1dB and VSWR is less than 1.25 during the overall frequency band.Considering the analysis result of different kinds of bondwire inconnections, the doublewire incinnections has been applied in amplifier. Due to the highly output power, theelimination of heat plays an important roll of the high power amplifier in the consideration. In order to solve this stubborn problem, some schemes of the radiating model areinvestigated, researched and ultimately presented. In addition, the installment of chip ineach stage of the circuit is illustrated simply.
