The component retrieval is retrieving the component from the component library that satisfies or approaches the user's request. With the increase of RCL (Reusable Component Library), the technology of multi-library united retrieval becomes more important day by day. Each component library distributes in the different area, uses the different component models, classification retrieval mode and provides the various retrieval methods, which not only prevents the sharing of software assets between the component libraries, but also increases the difficulty of the user to retrieve component in multi-library and the retrival cost of software component. Therefore, it has the vital practical significance in the component retrieval and the component library resources sharing research area to provide an internet-based, crossing multi-component library united component retrieval system for the users and realize the united retrieval in the distributed heterogeneous component library.The prime works for realization the mulit-library united component retrival in our thesis as follows:1. Through study the component library retrieval technology and the correlation theories, we introduced the ontology thought to multi-library retrieval domain, designed the faceted classification mode ontology and defined the faceted, the faceted term space and the relations of them in the ontology;2. Based on the faceted classification mode ontology, the system automatically inferred the relations of the different faceted by using the ontology reasoning tools.3. Multi-retrieval method automatically transforming algorithm has been designed based on the faceted classification mode ontology and the ontology reasoning tools.4. We have designed and realized the ontology-based multi-library united retrieval prototype system.
