Cellular Mobile Communication System, Multi-business Handoff Algorithm

The mobility is the typical characteristic of mobile communication. Handoff is an important task for mobility management to improve the usage efficiency of channel and the capability of system.Based on the algorithms mentioned in references, performance is analyzed in the system with data service and voice service, and an improved scheme is raised.Now the research on the handoff algorithm is keen on the improvement of the past handoff algorithm and reduction of the blocking probability of the handoff voice is based on the improvement of the blocking probability of the originating voice call. The new dual-FIFO scheme is based on the preemptive priority handoff scheme in system with data service and voice service. It respectively sets FIFO queue for the voice service (including handoff voice call and originating voice call) and data service (including handoff data call and originating data call). The new dual-FIFO scheme is analyzed and compared with the preemptive priority handoff scheme.From the results, the new scheme is given better performance on the improvement of the capacity of system and Qos.
