Based Blackfin561 Vod Terminal Software Design

Along with multimedia, network technology development, the previously single andpassive means which was·took to access information is no longer to meet the people'sdemand.VOD,as a typical application of streaming media technology,is drawingpeople's concern.This paper presents a VOD terminal solution and the solution's implementation process.The solution adopts the ADI's embedded multimedia processor Blackfin561 ashardware platform,and uClinux embedded operating system which is suitable for thedevelopment of embedded products as software platformt.Chapter 1 presents the background and prospect in the development of theVOD .system.Chapter 2 describes some technology background of the developmet of VOD, and the network transmission protocols related to the streaming media.Chapter 3 describes the system hardware and software platform,software architecture of this terminal, also gives the functions of the main module components in the VOD terminal.Chapter 4 presents a VOD client application design process, including the basic flow for a VOD terminal to setup a RTSP conversation with RTSP server, the reception and processing process of media data, and communication between processes .Chapter 5 analysises some factors which may impact the system performance, and gives some solutions to the problems in the design of a vod system.Chapter 6 presents development environment and testing works in the implement of this the solution.Chapter 7 presents the main conclusions of this paper, and gives the prospect of furtherfurther optimization in the VOD terminal.
