This dissertation presents a design of fire detecting, including the system design,the choosing of sensor and signal processing. We focus on the fire signal processingin this dissertation. By analysing the characteristics of the fire signal we gain thesuitable function to process the fire signal. We discuss much arithmetic includingtraditional arithmetic, statistical arithmetic as well as intelligent arithmetic. Byanalysing the advantages and disadvantages of all these arithmetic, we try to find themost suitable one.Adaptive filter are applied on the new design to pre-treat the signal detected bygas sensors. Then, by analysing all the arithmetic, a new arithmetic combined bytraditional arithmetic and intelligent arithmetic is presented. The output of thetraditional arithmetic is used as one input of the neurofuzzy system, it combines thestrongpoint of the both arithmetic, and it greatly improves the identificationcapability of the system.This dissertation forecasts the further research directions, and presents thecombination of the multielement detect and intelligent detect.
