Embedded Linux File System

Embedded system has got broadly applied in many fields. Both its hardware and software should be designed with high efficiency; its redundancy also should be got rid of. It demands small software codes, high automation and quick response speed. Linux is a kind of entire operating system with powerful functions, its source codes are open, and it provides large amount of utility and various applications. The Linux core could be tailored arbitrarily according to the request.As the embedded file system is an important part of embedded operating system. this article mainly elaborates the file structures and characteristics of the Linux file system. and secondly explains the main directory file of the file system. Combined with idiographic experiment platform ,a total structure of embedded Linux file system is designed. This article elaborates how to build a rational file system for embedded equipment on embedded Linux operating system and does lots of tailoring according to hardware configuration. The standards tree directory structure Linux file system is continued to use in the file system built in this article, in which we build corresponding directory .Only basic files in startup are kept and set in the file system.This article also introduces how to choose and set the file system and how to set the users and their team's adscription in order to achieve stated security. The chosen files are condensed and the physical layout of file system is optimized. Considering the limit of embedded system source, this article does corresponding tailoring to Linux file system on an idiographic platform thus the file system can be more suitable of embedded equipment.
