Rough Surface Laser Echo Polarization Properties Of Experimental Research

The laser backscattering polarization characteristics of rough surface are investigatedin this paper,it is a fundamental issue to laser detection,target recognition and other fieldsof study.Its solution will optimize the design of laser radar,infrared detectors,targetrecognization and other remote sensing equipments,sill,it plays a strong promoting role inimproving their performanceIn this paper,the main-content is experimental study of backscatteringcharacteristics,including the band of visible light (532nm) and infrared light(1064nm).The experiment studies several influential factors to the polarizationcharacteristics of scattering light in details,including different roughsurfaces,materials,wavelength of incident light,the polarization state of incident light,andso on.Currently,there are no reports about these problems in detail.The experimental resultsshow:the polarization degree of scattering light decreases with the incidence angleincreasing,its polarization degree turns slowly and has upward trend when the incidenceangel increases to a certain point;different rough surface performs different polarizationcharacteristics,the polarization degree of rougher surface is smaller;under the samecondition,the metal surface performs stronger polarization characteristics than thenon-mental surface;the depolarization characteristics of circularly polarized light isstronger than the linear polarized light;as to the same rough surface,the polarization degreeof long wavelength is higher than the short wavelength.Interviewed existing researches,thepaper gives qualitative explanations to the experimental results. Finally, based on thestokes vector decomposition,this paper analyses the possible polarization components inthe scattering light,including natural light and elliptically polarized light.And the paperillustrates different polarized states with different rough surface or different polarizationstate of the incident light.The polarization characteristics of actual targets surface arebenefit to laser detection,target recognition and other fields.
