Shipboard TT&C radar system is the major part of an aerial survey ship. After twenty years' development, ACU has evolved from SBC controlling and G-M system into multi-functional and digital ACU (antenna control unit), V-M system and things like that. In spite of its development, the ACU still has some shortcomings as follows: First, adopting a mock loop structure, the control loop has a rather complicated adjusting process and shows a bad performance of anti-interference. Second, it demands an unduly amount of operating equipment and staff, for example, one ACU requires two control platforms, one Antenna Angle coding unit and three people to operate it. With a view to minimize these shortcomings, this essay contributes some proposals of improvement designs. The new ACU will merge the two control platforms and on Antenna Angle coding unit into one control platform which combines the monitoring function as well as controlling function, in this way it digitize the whole control loop and realizes the incorporation of functions of the hard ware and the soft ware. This new design will reduce the size of the equipment to a large degree meanwhile greatly improve its stability and automatic level on the basis of maintaining all of its original functions. As a result, not only the performance and efficiency of the equipment will be greatly improved but also a great deal of manpower and financial resources will be saved.
