Because of Ad Hoc Network have such characteristics as multi-hop routing, hightlydynamic topology, no center and limited resources, traditional routing protocol is notsuitable for such a network. Therefore Ad Hoc Network routing protocol research anddesign as the current Ad Hoc Network area one of the hot.At present, routing protocol in Ad Hoc Network has been more than 10 species.Based on several typical Ad Hoc Network routing protocols, I research Zone RoutingProtocol (ZRP) which mixed-use table-driven and on-demand-driven routing protocol.Because of two strategies in the integrated use, ZRP has both proactive protocol's shortdelay characteristics and reactive protocol's control packet overhead fewer advantages. So ZRP has a better performance. However, its performance is deeply affected by zoneradius. But now, ZRP use preset value of the radius, which limits its adaptability andnetwork performance. On the basis of ZRP, I propose a new routing protocol namedAdaptive Zone Routing Protocol. AZRP according to the actual network communicationsenvironment, comput nodes control spending, dynamic set up zone radius. At last, through simulation software NS-2, I analyze and compare the performance parametersbetween ZRP and AZRP. The results show that AZRP achieve a good balance amongcontrol spending, time delaying and other performances, improve integrated performance.Meanwhile, AZRP can adapt to the environment with different requirements of networkparameters.
