The Modeling method of switching power supply can be divided intodigital simulation and analysis simulation. The digital simulation can bedivided into direct digital simulation and indirect digital simulation. Thedirect digital simulation method of switching power supply has beenimproved greatly because of the rapid development of CAD and thepopularization of high performance computer, which develops from theSPICE-like simulation approach which uses the modified nodal analysisapproach to piecewise-linear-based simulation which uses the statevariable approach. In order to accelerate simulation speed and systemaccuracy, the hierarchical simulation method is developed.The virtual prototype DVT(design, verification, test) derives fromthe hierarchical simulation method, which introduces virtual prototypetechnology in the research of switching power supply system. Thevirtual prototype DVT lays special emphasis on finding most problemsof the switching power supply models by computer simulation to correctthem, thus reduces the cost of switching power supply from research to afirst physical prototype. The virtual prototype DVT is fast simulating,accurate and multifunctional. This paper uses the virtual prototype DVTto do thorough research in a 5V switching power supply system. Themain works include:This paper firstly analyzes the working principles of every parts of the switching power supply, compares the several reset techniques of theforward converter, and adopts the active clamp reset technique, thencomputes and sets the parameters of the forward converter, and designsthe power transformer.This paper establishes the multilevel models of the components ofswitching power supply main circuit and control circuit with the virtualprototype DVT, and modularizes them. These models not only reducesthe simulation time but also obtains accurate simulation results.This paper finally simulates the switching power supply system withthe simulation software SIMPLIS, makes circuit, in SIMPLIS, andadjusts the parameters, takes several simulations, and gets simulationwaveforms. The computer simulation result proves the feasibility andvalidity of the proposed theory.
