Study Of Library Information Resources Of Digital Production Process

The life circle of information resource digitization project includes five processes. They are respective project planning, digitization content choosing, digitization production workflow, digitization preservation and digitized resource publishing. Information resource digitization production workflow studied in this paper is one of the key steps in the project. It starts with the preparation of digitization, and ends with producing the digitization products. It contains the preparation of digitization, digitization conversion and the text capture when needed.Firstly the paper discussed the process of digitization, including the preparation of digitization, digitization conversion and text capture. In preparation of production it discussed the followings: the assessment of originals, the transportation planning for movement of originals, assigning unique identifier of originals, pre-dealing of originals, dealing with damaged originals, the selecting of software and hardware, and setting up environment of production. In digitization conversion it mainly discussed the equipment of conversion, the choosing of mode of conversion, the steps and standards of scanning originals. In the process of text capture it discussed the application of OCR. And then referring to foreign quality control methods it discussed the quality control of workflow. It discussed the formulating standards, the method of products test, workflow optimization, the management of staffs respectively and thoroughly.
