Nowadays with the development of broad-band network technology, more and more image data transfer on Internet. Some sensitive data of these data must be encrypted between the sender and the receiver, so the protection of image information becomes more and more important. Image data has a big quantity, and its redundancy is very high, and pixels of it have a strong relationship. Many special image encryption technologies are brought forward to fit these characteristics, and many parameters used to evaluate the performance of the image encryption algorithm are brought forward too. However, because test circumstance and the selection of image are different when give a different encryption algorithm, it's very difficult to compare these algorithm's performance. Based on this requirement, this thesis designs and implements a performance evaluating system of image encryption algorithm. The system not only can evaluate one algorithm's performance, but also can evaluate performance between different algorithms.The main works of this thesis are:(1) Introduced every kind of image encryption technologies and some parameters which can evaluate the performance of the algorithms.(2) Designed a performance evaluating system of image encryption algorithm. Analyzed the system's requirement and introduced the system's summary design and detail design.(3) By using VC++, designed and implemented the system. The system can be used to add image encryption algorithm, load image, save the result of the encryption, and compute the value of the parameter which can be used to evaluate the performance of the image encryption algorithm.
