Bank of China information centre is the institution which manages data processing for all operations of the bank's headquarter and his branches in north China, as well as the great mass of operations of others branches in the whole country of China.70 percent of its total data capacity is based on open system, which including tens of system such as online banking, financial report form, electronic report form and so on. The requirements of the inner management and outer intendance and the new products worked out by Bank of China in these years to take the leadership of the bank market which full of fierce competition make the data scope greatly increase. All of these require more and more advanced data processing.Along with the increased requirement, the former DAS are more and more obviously blocking the rapidly development of information system. It is imperative under the situation to build a stable, safe, uniform and flexible storage area basic establishment and to take uniformly management. Since 2005, Bank of China has scientifically managed information storage based on open system inch by inch, including built Storage Area Networks to conformity and uniformly manages storage resource, established uniform data backup system.The establishment of Storage Area Networks has been providing powerful safeguard for the development of the bank's information system, reducing purchasing and running cost, increasing rate of resource utilization, ensuring the safety and stability of system data, expediting the actualize of the new system, ensuring the providing of information.This paper mainly expatiate the difficulty in the process of storage building for Bank of China, and how to research effectively, and bring forward method to take actual fabrication.
