Organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) are considered as the best display device in the 21's century. Transparent/top organic light emitting devices (TOLEDs) are one of the important parts in the research area of OLED, since they are proper for transparent display technology and on-chip technology. However, it needs long time and costs a lot in the process of TOLED manufacture, and the process is always complex. This prolongs the development of the TOLED.To solve this problem, computer aided design using Matlab was developed in this thesis. First, a optical characteristics calculation program base on thin film optics was derived. Second, a theoretical spectrum calculation program was made, and the main effects produced by the microcavity were discussed. Finally, a semitransparent organic light-emitting device was fabricated by thermal evaporation only. The device showed superior electrical and optical characteristics due to the introduction of several methods to modify the electrodes. By fabricating the top organic light-emitting device, theoretical spectrum calculation was compared with experimental spectrum, and the microcavity effect was showed. In addition, a brand-new idea on simulation of the thickness distribution of thin film, which fabricated by thermal evaporation system, was realized."Monte Carlo"method and a software for opto-mechanical modeling"TracePro"were used to realize the simulation.
