With the rapid development of the computer technologies, the instrument buses and automation measurement solutions are becoming the new technical trend. The LXI Consortium develops the LXI bus Technology standards through a development based on the intrinsic VXI-bus standard after bringing together the feedback and requirement, which all of the instrument bus users could tell and talk out. In view of the performance advantages of the LXI devices and the time when the devices will come in, those devices with existing bus technologies, such as PXI or VXI, should come in upon together in all kinds of measurement systems, and the LXI will become a very dynamic field, including of its development trend and researches interrelated.At present, A few Corps no other than the Agilent Co. has its own integrated series products of LXI devices; Shaanxi Hitech Electronic Co. and ADLINK are the few members of the LXI Consortium internal so much as in Asia, and its researches and development on LXI devices are on the march; Although there are some colleges and Corps just as the same setting about researching on the LXI, such as BUAA, XiDian, and HIT.But actually we have a little and nothing about it in view of the real LXI devices.Based on the researching and analyzing the LXI standard and technologies interrelated, the dissertation sets forth a design idea of the LXI device, and discusses the process of its design and implementation, and then all of them fully grown into the article.According with routine means to design embedded system, the LXI device in the dissertation——the LXI DATASMPL module introduce the basic truss of ARM + FPGA, with the way of network control and display, and real time sampling. Since the simplest LXI device has performances of Ethernet interface, network time synchronization and trigger, consisting in embedded hardware, embedded operating system with network, and embedded applications design with Webserver and control /interface. So the system will be complex in a way.The means of ARM + FPGA is very fit for modularizing the LXI device. The dissertation is mainly focusing on the LXI standard and the design of the subsystem of DATASMPL.For one thing, we strenuously study on the LXI standard and separately summarize parts of those correlative contents. For the other, we frame the LXI module hardware unit from this to that in accordance with the module techno-indices. The forepart of module is adhibited by 12-bit high-powered A/D converter AD9223 with on chip-integrating high-speed CMOS technics. DATASMPL is carried out in FPGA interior logic circuits. And then the datum goes by ARM and network micro-controllers from DATASMPL up to LAN interface within the internet-protocols, and finally to telnet clients. And thus the meshwork characteristic of the LXI module will be apparently obvious. In conclusion, the LXI module will be used in very large area.
