Bistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar which integrates electronic technology and radar technology technology has been one kind of new imaging radar system. Contrasted with the conventional SAR system, its transmitter and receiver are mounted on different platforms, which have several advantages like ability of obtaining rich information, high security, capability of anti-jam and high radar range. All these advantages make it a hot topic in international researches in recent years. Obviously, it has good perspective in both military and civil application.. The study of his dissertation concentrates on the Bistatic SAR imaging algorithm and the primary work is as follows:The principle of Bistatic SAR is introduced and the geometry and signal models are presented firstly. The limit of pulse repetition frequency and focusing depth are investigated. Based on the study, the properties of Doppler and resolutions are analyzed. It reveals that the imaging algorithm of Bistatic SAR is related to the geometry models .In succession,RD algorithm and BP algorithm which are applicable for Bistatic SAR are studied. The efficiency and applicability of the two algotithms are verified by imaging simulation experiment of point target and distribute target. The simulation results demonstrate the correctness of the two algorithms. The quality of images acquired by the BP algorithm is much better than RD algorithm. Furthermore, the BP algorithm is adapted for any track model but needs massive computation . To modify the BP algorithm limitation, its improved algorithm is also studied in the dissertation.To solve the problem of motion changes in SAR focusing processing, the application ofωk algorithm on Bistatic SAR is introduced. The efficiency ofωk algotithm on Bistatic SAR is verified by imaging simulation experiment of point target and distribute target. At last, the performance of the proposed algorithms is compared. It reveals that RD algorithm is only applicable for few mode,ωk algorithm is applicable for side looking mode which baseline are not paralleled with flight direction, and BP algorithm is adapted for any fight mode.
